Frequently asked questions

  • Yes, I am currently accepting new clients. However, I do require a free consultation call prior to being able to make an online appointment request. This is why I like to make myself available via text and phone so that we can cut out the depersonalized common scheduling systems often used today. I enjoy being able to communicate and setting up scheduling while being able to engage and best meet your specific needs if I can.

  • Short answer is yes! I offer both in person and telehealth.

You may have heard online therapy referred to by many names: Telehealth, virtual counseling, teletherapy, e-therapy, and it's experiencing significant growth.

In today's fast-paced world, online therapy emerges as a convenient option for enhancing access to mental health care, all the while ensuring the security and confidentiality of your personal information. Instead of necessitating a commute to my office and back to get to your next commitment, you can simply click on a link that leads you into our session. No stressful time crunches to make your appointment on time or hustle out the door after some deep emotional work has just been done.

Moreover, offering therapy online enables me to expand my reach as a therapist. Did you know that the only requirement for engaging in therapy with me is being a resident of the state of Texas. And with as large as our great state is and with over 400 towns with a population of fewer than a thousand residents with very limited resources to specialized mental health care, this means that telehealth allows me the opportunity to serve those without the resources found in our larger metropolitan areas. I currently work with several clients 300 miles or more outside the Dallas Metroplex.

  • Talk about a cluster of confusing identifying credentialing codes that more often than not only make sense to the practitioners in the field. So let me break it down so that it may be a little less complicated and much more useful to you.

MS - Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from an accredited University

LPC - This is a very common acronym in the field. It means I have completed all the requirements by the Texas State Board to be and remain a Licensed Professional Counselor.

CSAT - This distinguishes that I have completed all the necessary training requirements by the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals to be a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.

NBCC - Represents that I am a National Board Certified Counselor, meaning I have voluntarily met high national standards for counseling as required by the National Board for Certified Counselors and that I remain in good standing with their association by continuing to meet the high standards set by them.
