Meet Tia
Licensed Therapist
Tia A. Strong
MS, LPC, CSAT, NCC
I am a licensed therapist who believes in the power of fostering deep, supportive connections, extending compassion toward intrapersonal relationship and the discovery of self-insights to make healing changes in one's life. My approach involves helping clients identify patterns and behaviors that may be holding them back, and then working together to develop strategies for change.
On a more personal note... I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I hail from a family with a history of addiction and dysfunction, despite their best intentions. The experience of my families courage to change and begin the journey of recovery and healing inspired me to discover the meaning and value I could recover from the history of my childhood traumas and the impact that continued to manifest in my adulthood. What I came to find is that I possess a profound instinct and intuition of humanity and the compassion and empathy that is greatly needed to be human, but very rarely provided unconditionally in our families, communities, and systems. My intention is to apply my personal strengths as a dedicated professional to collaborate and support my clients on their individual journeys.
My hope is that we can come to find the meaning and value that lies in your own personal journey. You can text or call the number listed and set up a brief consultation - no pressure. I am here to answer your questions.
Passionate Commitment to Healing and Recovery
I am deeply passionate and dedicated to the journey of fostering personal development, healing, and recovery for individuals, partnerships, and families. My therapeutic expertise encompasses a diverse range of modalities, including individual sessions, conjoint sessions, collateral sessions, and group therapy. I hold specialized training in the Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) model developed by Patrick Carnes, enabling me to address complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in partners who have experienced betrayal due to sex addiction and infidelity.
My professional experience extends to extensive work with Pia Mellody's Model of Developmental Immaturity, conducted both in individual sessions and workshop settings. With a deep well of compassion and exceptional interpersonal communication skills, I possess a natural capacity for active listening, which serves as a guiding light in unraveling individuals' intrapersonal communications.
My primary focus revolves around working with adults navigating behavioral addictions, as well as those grappling with depression, anxiety, relational challenges, betrayal-induced PTSD, family of origin issues, and trauma histories.

Qualifications & Academic Journey
Throughout the process of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) I completed an internship at Mayhill Behavioral Health Hospital where I trained in leading intervention techniques in addiction co-occurring with severe mental health disorders such as Anxiety Disorders, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorders and Psychotic episodes. Additionally I interned at two private practices both specializing in sex addiction and partner betrayal trauma treatment. Which led me to begin my training in Patrick Carnes’ Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) model with a significance on treating partners of sex addicts and those impacted by betrayal trauma.
I have been practicing in private practice for 10 years and I have specialized in sex addiction/compulsivity and partners impacted by betrayal/PTSD for 9 years.
